# Publish AI Blog Articles to Shopify from SurgeRank

> Connect SurgeRank to your Shopify store to publish citation-ready blog articles directly to your Shopify blog — schema included — in a single click.

The Shopify integration lets ecommerce teams publish citation-ready content to their Shopify blog without leaving the SurgeRank Content Engine. Whether you're running a single brand store or managing multiple blogs within one Shopify account, you can route finished articles to the right destination and start earning AI citations the moment a post goes live.

## Prerequisites

Before connecting, make sure you have:

* A **Shopify store on any paid plan**.
* At least one **blog set up** inside your Shopify admin (Online Store → Blog Posts → Manage Blogs).

## Connect Shopify

    In SurgeRank, go to **Settings → Integrations → Shopify**.

    Type your Shopify store domain into the field provided (e.g. `yourstore.myshopify.com`).

  <Step title="Authorize the Connection">
    Click **Connect**. You'll be redirected to Shopify's permission screen. Review and approve the requested permissions — **write\_content** and **read\_content** — to allow SurgeRank to publish blog posts on your behalf.

  <Step title="Return to SurgeRank">
    After approval, Shopify redirects you back to SurgeRank. The integration status will show as **Active**, confirming the connection is working.

## Publishing an article

From the Content Engine editor, click **Publish → Shopify** when your article is ready. You'll be prompted to:

* **Select the target blog** — if your Shopify store has multiple blogs, choose the one this article belongs to.
* **Set the publish status** — send it as a **Draft** for a final review in Shopify, or publish it **immediately**.

After you confirm, SurgeRank sends the content to Shopify and creates the post. You can view it in **Shopify Admin → Online Store → Blog Posts** at any time.

## What SurgeRank sends

When you publish to Shopify, SurgeRank passes the following fields:

| **Title**     | The article's optimized headline                            |
| **Body HTML** | Full article content, ready for Shopify's rich text editor  |
| **Summary**   | Used as the meta description for search and social previews |
| **Tags**      | Keyword and topic tags derived from your content brief      |
| **Author**    | The SurgeRank user who published the article                |

## Disconnecting

To remove the integration, go to **Settings → Integrations → Shopify → Disconnect**. This revokes SurgeRank's access to your store but does **not** delete any posts that have already been published.

  After publishing, SurgeRank automatically monitors the new Shopify blog URL for AI citations. You'll see the page appear in your Citations dashboard within a few minutes of the post going live.
